Adam hails from Portland. When not conducting structural biology research at a lab bench, he can likely be found on a river, ocean, sea, lake, fjord or eating ice cream at the takeout. On the Oregon Coast, he particularly enjoys crabbing, fishing, rock gardening and long boat surfing. In fresh waters, Adam takes to whitewater rivers where he can boof rocks, stern squirt eddy lines, and plug every single waterfall he comes across. When on the water, Adam encourages people to have the most fun possible while challenging them in creative ways.
Before he became an avid weekend warrior, Adam worked as a sea kayak guide in the San Juan Islands for 4 summers as well as being the head leader/instructor for Whitman College’s sea kayak program. He holds various certifications from the BCU, ACA, and other organizations that have allowed him to help others grow a paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts.
